How to find out your Chinese zodiac sign
To find out your Chinese zodiac sign, all you need to know is your year of birth and the 12-animal cycle of the Chinese calendar. Each year corresponds to a specific animal, and the cycle repeats itself every 12 years.
To find your sign:
1. Read the list of Chinese zodiac signs
The 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac, in order, are as follows:
Rat
Ox
Tiger
Rabbit
Dragon
Snake
Horse
Goat
Monkey
Rooster
Dog
Pig
2. Make sure you know the lunar year
Lunar New Year doesn't always start on January 1st. It follows the lunar calendar and falls between January 21st and February 20th.
If you were born in January or February, check the exact date of the Lunar New Year in the year you were born to find out whether you belong to the animal of that year or the previous year.
3. Check the animal sign of the Chinese zodiac that corresponds to your year of birth by finding your birth year here:
Year of the Rat: 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020
Year of the Ox: 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021

If you were born on 15th February 1989, check whether the Lunar New Year in 1989 was before or after that date. The New Year was on 6th February 1989, so your sign is the Snake. If you were born on 20th January 1989, the New Year had not yet begun, so your sign is the Dragon.
Tip:
There are online calculators where you can enter your date of birth to instantly find out your sign.
Add a personal touch: Engraving ideas for a unique piece of jewellery.
What makes this jewellery truly unique is the possibility of personalising it with an engraving that tells a story, whether that’s yours, or the story of someone special.
Here are a few engraving suggestions to help make your jewellery even more meaningful:
- Names: Engrave the person's name on one side of the disc to match their zodiac animal engraving.
- Date of birth: Engrave the date or year of birth to pair with the design engraved on the front of the disc.
- Messages of love and luck: Spread joy and happiness with heart-warming words.
- Inspirational quotes: Leave a touching quote that celebrates the New Year whilst also inspiring the wearer.
